Appearance, fit and manufacturing requirements need to work together.
GPT Precision supports drawing-based CNC machining for custom appliance housings, control components and internal support parts. From prototype evaluation to low- and medium-volume orders, we review material, geometry, finishing and inspection requirements against the current part specification.

Where the Part Fits in Your Appliance
Different components serve different purposes. A visible housing may need consistent appearance, while a control knob depends on its mating interface and an internal bracket must maintain alignment.
Identify the part's role in the assembly so manufacturing and inspection priorities can be established around its intended use.
Visible Housings & Panels
Machined housings, front panels, handles, bases and appliance frames.
What matters: Mark visible surfaces, edge requirements, texture direction and finish references. Identify mounting interfaces that must remain accurate after finishing.
Controls & Moving Interfaces
Knobs, buttons, hinge components and mating mechanical parts.
What matters: Define bores, roscas, clearances, travel limits and mating-part relationships. Highlight surfaces that affect movement, positioning or user interaction.
Internal Supports & Thermal Components
Motor brackets, mounting plates, heat sinks and internal structural components.
What matters: Specify mounting datums, available space, thermal interfaces and operating conditions. Identify features that control alignment, stability and assembly.
Engineering priorities
Balance Appearance, Assembly and Cost
A good-looking part still has to fit.
Cosmetic quality, dimensional accuracy and manufacturing cost are connected. Distinguishing critical requirements from general features helps establish a practical manufacturing and inspection scope.

Appearance & Surface Finish
On the cosmetic face shown above, identify cosmetic zones and provide references for color, texture and surface direction.
Anodizing, bead blasting, brushing and polishing can be reviewed where suitable. Confirm finish compatibility, masking areas and any required sample approval before production.
Assembly & Functional Fit
At the control interface and mounting datum shown above, highlight mating faces, locating features, threads and critical dimensions.
Where surface treatment affects the final geometry, specify the dimensions and acceptance requirements that apply after finishing. Include the mating-part information needed to evaluate assembly.
Manufacturing Cost Drivers
The illustrated face, interface and datum can require different finishing, access and inspection work. Geometría de la pieza, material, tolerancias, surface treatment and order quantity all influence the manufacturing route.
Distinguish functional requirements from noncritical features. Include prototype and expected production quantities so machining setups, finishing and inspection requirements can be considered together.
Select the Manufacturing Route
The appropriate process depends on the finished part—not only its appearance in a CAD model.
Fresado CNC
For machined housings, pockets, mounting faces, recesses and bracket features.
Access to internal features, wall geometry and cosmetic surfaces should be considered during manufacturing review.
Torneado CNC
For knobs, sleeves, bores, shoulders and other components with predominantly rotational geometry.
Define mating diameters, concentric features, threads and surface requirements.
Formed Sheet Components
For bent panels, brackets and related sheet components, provide the developed or formed geometry, material condition and critical interfaces.
Sheet metal fabrication requirements are assessed as a separate manufacturing scope where appropriate.
Acabado superficial
Review anodizing, bead blasting, brushing or polishing against the selected material and finished-part requirements.
Specify appearance references, masking, surface protection and post-finish dimensions where applicable.
Material selection should reflect the part's function, service conditions, required finish and manufacturing process.
Aluminio
Specify alloy and temper for lightweight housings, controls, mounting parts or thermal components. Include anodizing and cosmetic requirements where relevant.
Acero inoxidable
Specify the grade, material condition and intended environment. Identify any appearance, cleaning, corrosion or wear requirements.
Cobre
Define the grade and thermal or electrical interface conditions. Highlight contact surfaces and any joining or finishing restrictions.
Engineering Plastics
ABS, polycarbonate and other specified plastics may be reviewed for CNC-machined prototypes or suitable components. Define the exact grade, functional requirements and intended testing. Suitability for final production conditions requires project-specific confirmation.
Agree the Acceptance Requirements Before Production
Acceptance criteria should be clear enough to support quotation, inspection and delivery.
1
Cosmetic Acceptance
Mark visible zones and provide finish references, viewing conditions, allowable marks and sample approval requirements.
2
Dimensional Acceptance
Identify critical dimensions, datums, fits and post-treatment requirements. Discuss appropriate measurement methods, including CMM, optical inspection or dedicated gauges.
3
Inspección & Entrega
Define inspection documentation, sampling expectations and any protective packaging requirements. Identify surfaces that need protection during handling and transportation.
Can you support prototypes and small production runs?
GPT Precision supports drawing-based precision machining for prototypes and low- to medium-volume production. Manufacturing suitability, order quantities and delivery planning are reviewed against the part specification and required scope.
How should I specify a cosmetic finish?
Mark visible surfaces and provide color, texture and surface references. Include acceptable cosmetic limits, masking areas and post-finish dimensional requirements. Any sample approval procedure should be agreed before production.
Can a machined or anodized component satisfy appliance electrical safety requirements?
Electrical safety must be evaluated against the applicable product and component requirements. Identify insulation, grounding, contact areas and required tests. Anodizing or machining alone should not be treated as evidence of complete-appliance compliance.
Which materials can I request?
Aluminio, stainless steel, copper and selected engineering plastics are available for project review. Specify the exact grade, condition and required performance. Availability, process suitability and documentation requirements are confirmed for each project.
How quickly can I receive a quotation?
Quotation timing depends on the drawing, material, cantidad, part complexity, finishing and inspection requirements. After reviewing your RFQ, we will confirm the expected quotation schedule for your project.
